The Wide Receiver’s job in the passing game is to run precise routes in order to give the QB enough room to make an effective pass. The Receiver has to have the confidence to know that he will make the catch every time the ball is thrown. He must be tough enough to make catches when he knows the hit is coming and also make key blocks to spring the ball carrier in the running game. Receivers must have the ability to maneuver in the open field as well as tight situations. There are two types of Wide outs, the speed Receiver and the possession Receiver. The speed Receiver has the ability to stretch the defense and make big plays down the field. Where as the possession Receiver has the ability to run sharp exact routes and has very reliable hands to make the clutch catch. Both types of receivers have to be able to beat the jam. If a Receiver can’t beat the jam he will be rendered ineffective to the offense. It’s nothing worst than a QB to take a five step drop and see his Receivers two yards down the field. So we have professional Receiver techniques to help you beat the press. We will also discuss the importance of the Redline for the Receivers and how it is one of the keys to making big plays. Huddle Up will constantly be producing new diagrams of routes being ran along with the videos so you can read watch and learn.
